Yeah, we’re just geeks being geeks. But this picture kicks some ass.

Watts In The Tiny MicroVee Sub? 1200

velodyne-microvee.jpg

I’m not sure exactly how, but this tiny (about 8 inches on a side) aluminum subwoofer cube is capable of pumping out a staggering 1200 watts (600 RMS) of earth-shaking bass. Inside the MicroVee is a built-in amplifier and three 6.5 inch drivers. I have a bit of trouble understanding how such a small sub can move enough air to make all of those watts worth hearing, but it’s got some kind of software distortion control that should help. It’s got speaker level inputs, weighs about 20 pounds, and is available in black or white for £575 in November.

batmobile-auction_121.jpg

Hey guys how about this - Microsoft Windows media center at home has an alternative in town! Get a makeover at home, it’s time for you to enjoy the media system experience in your entire domicile.

Fuze Media System has their boy out disguised as a full home media server backed with lot many specialties and features over the Microsoft Windows babe. The foremost is its design that enables it to be used in your entire abode.

The catch – media center isn’t actually a PC – built on Intel platform, it has no internet accessibility. However, there are loads of attributes that make it stand elegant still – the system has a touch-screen interface, and extenders called the Fuzemini that have HDMI out, DVD/CD drives, CableCARD.

The media center does whole house audio, synced - allowing for multi-streaming throughout the rooms. The media can be sent in all rooms via Ethernet and Fuzemini boxes. You can also use CAT-5 cables through USB adaptor to send audio to powered amplified wall switches. Powerline versions of the panel are also available, but there is no word on the price yet.

The car’s front roof panel vents, gives way to a high-density digital projection system to display a movie of your choice, anytime, anywhere from the side of a building, onto a billboard or almost any wall. The Flix concept is also equipped with a next-generation, high-definition DVD player with integrated hard drive for maximum AV storage, a professional THX/SDS-theater quality sound system, pivoting quarter window speakers and red door/floor strip lighting to complete a professional theater like experience. Updated R2-D2 Home Theater System Costs Way too Much

r2d2hometheater.jpg

The R2-D2 Home Theater System isn’t completely new to the market, but this updatedversion from Hammacher is. R2 now sports a DLP projector in his little droid noggin that has a 1024 x 768 resolution and 1500:1 contrast ratio.

R2 can throw an image 80” in size from up to 16.5 feet away. If you feel like watching a movie on the ceiling, the projector can rotate 65 degrees making that possible. One of the arm housings has a DVD/CD player and R2’s vents hide an iPod dock, which I’m sure Luke always felt R2 was missing.

The iPod dock will fit most iPod’s including the iPod Video and allows you to play your videos back through the projector and hear the sound through the twin 20mm speakers built-in. Next to the docking station are a memory card reader and a USB port. Connections on the back allow you to hook up headphones, speakers and your game system as well. The only thing R2 lacks now is HD output and a price that geeks into Star Wars can afford. At $2799.95 I don’t see many Star Wars fans scrambling for their wallets. The Millennium Falcon statue holds the remote that controls R2-D2’s functions.
